Vibram is set to sponsor the "Campo dei Fiori Trail"
Vibram, the sector leader in high-performance rubber soles, is confirming its support and commitment towards the sporting world, and to trail running in particular, by announcing its sponsorship of the first edition of the "Eolo Campo dei Fiori Trail" race, planned for Saturday 1st October in Lido di Gavirate, Varese.
In the few short years since the Vibram Trailrunning Team was established, it has achieved amazing results at the most important international competitions, becoming a benchmark in global trail running thanks to its excellent performances, which only serve to make the team increasingly competitive. The athletes from the “Ordinary people being extraordinary” team taking part will include Italian Stefano Ruzza, from Busto Arsizio, and Yulia Baykova, both fresh from the prestigious Ultra Trail Du Mont-Blanc ultramarathon competitions, which were held last August in Chamonix. Marco Zanchi will be alongside his team mates at the Vibram stand, ready to share all his trail running secrets with the general public and explain just how exceptional the performance provided by Vibram is for this discipline: anyone interested can test it on the specially installed ramp featuring the Vibram® MEGAGRIP, the outstanding compound that has been designed to guarantee exceptional grip on wet and especially demanding terrains. There will also be a special guest of the highest order to kick off the race, Lithuanian Gediminas Grinius from the Vibram Trailrunning Team, who is currently number one in the Ultra-Trail World Tour ranking.
"We are particularly happy to partner with the CFT”, says Jerome Bernard, Vibram Marketing & Communication Director for the sole segment. “The race's route winds through the picturesque landscape of the mountain that symbolises Varese and whose peak we can see from our offices". Vibram is proud to support an event such as the CFT, one which brings together the various communities around the Campo dei Fiori with a trail spanning 41km and boasting 2,100 metres of vertical gain. This is a very technically demanding course - just think about the two steep descents from the peaks - yet it is also stunning, with many parts going through beech forests and offering lovely views over the lakes. Vibram would also like to give a special mention to the extraordinary work carried out by the planning team (ASD Atletica Gavirate).
In addition to the main race, people can also sign up for the Folaga Trail, a route of 18km with 900 metres of vertical gain, an alternative to the Mini Trail, a competition for kids that can be done with friends and family.
Vibram wishes all the trail runners the best of luck for the race at Campo dei Fiori!
