Vertical running with Vibram® FiveFingers®
After New York and Basel, the 2011 “Vertical World Circuit®” - the world’s first skyscraper racing circuit governed by the International Skyrunning Federation – headed for “Shelters’ Vertical Rush” on March 3 in the heart of London’s financial centre. Nearly 900 athletes raced up the 920 steps of Tower 42, currently the second highest building in the City of London. The 2011 ranking leader Cristina Bonacina from Italy, won the race in women category. As a fan of “barefoot” running trend, she wore, together with her countryman Dario Fracassi , Vibram FiveFingers® footglove, indispensable for optimum balance, stability, less impact and greater propulsion during building run-up . Next stop on the circuit will be Taipei 101 International Run Up Race on June 5 , where the athletes will scale the heights of the 101 Taipei Tower.
