CARMINA CAMPUS AND VIBRAM PRESENT A NEW COLLECTION FOR THE SPRING/SUMMER 2016

This is a special collection blending the ethical accessory, jewels and furnishing items fashion brand created with the intuitive feel of Ilaria Venturini Fendi, fashion designer and farm entrepreneur, together with Vibram, a worldwide leading company in the production of high-performance rubber soles for the Outdoor and Lifestyle markets, not to mention the Industrial and Repairs sectors.

Two different spheres with one objective in common: to respect the environment, the Earth that is our home, with a new interpretation of how to think and produce fashion.

The collection includes unique bags, comfortable and with sophisticated design giving precious added value: recycling of materials destined for elimination, exploiting their usefulness to the full to reduce their environmental impact to a minimum.

Created, produced and distributed by Carmina Campus, these bags originate from unused rubber sheets provided by Vibram that have been transformed into finished products. The model range includes shopping bags, satchels, micro-satchels, tote bags, flapped handle bags and a backpack.

Side twining and visible stitching on the edges are enlivened by coloured shoe laces, which in two shopping bag models also serve to fasten the small shaped rubber cuts constituting the structure of the bag. Working “filaments”, i.e. the excess of Vibram rubber used for soles, become decorations on the under-arm shopping bag. Likewise the nails characteristic of shoe soles are nestled in metal badges which become decorations on handles and flaps or jewels.

Some bag models have also been made using Ecostep strips, an exclusive Vibram compound with a characteristic multi-coloured dotted effect used in the four base tones of ice, black, honey and blue. Vibram Ecostep was introduced onto the market more than fifteen years ago and is realized using production scraps that can reduce waste and the use of virgin materials by up to 30%. It is a technical and ecological material of very high quality and from today is used by Carmina Campus to produce bags too.
