Vitale Bramani was born in Milan on May 3, 1900. Here is a portrait of him in the late 1920’s.

 

He was an Italian entrepreneur, mountaineer and mountain guide. Avid climber and member of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), he designed the world's first rubber lug sole.
