Saturday February 23rd was another day of intense emotions for Markus Eder, the Italian freeride champion and Vibram athlete who triumphed in the third stop of the Freeride World Tour 2019 in Fieberbrunn, Austria.
Markus got a score of 92.33, ahead of USA’s Andrew Pollard and French Leo Slemett, thus keeping the top of 2019 ranking. On the finish line, the Italian athlete commented smiling "I'm really excited, what a fantastic race! I managed to make a descent very clean and fast, everything was perfect!" and added "When this past days we did the face check the conditions were not that good, there was little snow. But after that it snowed a lot, which made the track fantastic. Yesterday I felt super happy when I identified my line and I deeply studied it. I felt safe. Then, just before going down, I was afraid and started to think about where I could made mistakes ... the season is going so well, but I thought, sooner or later a moment arrives when I make a mistake ... I was really afraid that time had arrived. When I got to the finish line, I was excited. I'm really happy!".
Great satisfaction also at Vibram, which is following Markus over his 2019 season. Also in this stage Markus competed with specially customized Dalbello boots with a special Vibram Arctic Grip sole on them.
Next stages of the FWT will be:
- March 2-8: Ordino Arcalis (Andorra)
- March 23-31: Verbier (Switzerland).
