Andrea Lanfri Conquers Everest
Many congrats to parathlete Andrea Lanfri conquering the summit of Mount Everest on May 13th and becoming the first multi-amputee to achieve such an accomplishment.
A few days earlier, Andrea set another record: running on his prostheses the world's highest mile, in 9 minutes and 48 seconds at the altitude of 5160 meters.
Andrea’s life has always been connected to sport, an unbreakable bond that has gone even beyond what he describes as a "minor setback": the fulminating meningitis that, in 2015, caused him to lose the use of both legs and seven fingers on his hands. Since that year, all of Italy has been rooting for him to return to his life as an athlete. In both running and mountaineering, Andrea has achieved amazing results.
