Sole

Litebase/Megagrip Sole

Thanks to the Litebase technology, exclusively developed for SCARPA, the rubber sole is reduced to a minimum, while the shape and arrangement of the lugs remains unchanged. This significant reduction in the thickness of the sole has no impact on the risk of tearing. The lightweight sole has the same riveting as an identical approach sole constructed with traditional Vibram technology, and shares the same characteristics in terms of grip, duration and wear resistance. The design of the tread has been specifically studied to offer grip and stability for technical approach.

The reinforced toe offers protection for the foot, while the double row of symmetrical lugs along the crown guarantees a stable sole and helps to create draining grooves to keep the shoe free from mud and debris. The direction of the lugs at the front of the foot and at the heel is designed to boost grip on the way up and brake on the way down. The shape, height and arrangement of the lugs are no different from those found on a traditional rubber sole. Thanks to the Vibram Litebase technology, the sole offers excellent performance, with just a third of the weight of a traditional sole. The outstanding performance of this sole is boosted even further by the Vibram Megagrip compound, which offers excellent grip on more complex outdoor terrain, on both wet and dry surfaces.
